The ReNew (Sri Lanka) survey includes a measure of gender role norms for men and women. This measure uses a single item from the survey and focuses on an an individual’s perception of attitudes about gender norms within one’s neighborhood. Different aspects of gender norm attitudes captured in the measure include communication between spouses and gender-based violence. Items are asked at baseline before the implementation of the ReNew project and again in the final two months of the program.
