Masculine Honor Prototype (MHP)

The Masculine Honor Prototype (MHP) is a single-item measure that assesses respondents’ agreement with an honor prototype specific to men. Along with the Feminine Honor Prototype (FHP), the measures can be used individually or together as a Combined Honor Prototype (CHP) as a shorter option in place of other honor measures used in representative surveys.

Scoring Procedures

The unit-weighted scores from the Masculine Honor Prototype (MHP) and the Feminine Honor Prototype (FHP) are averaged with higher scores representing greater honor endorsement for the Combined Honor Prototype (CHP) score.
