Evidence-based Measures of Empowerment for Research on Gender Equality (EMERGE) is an initiative focused on measurement of gender equality and empowerment. The platform is designed as a repository of measures and resources around gender equality and empowerment for researchers and practitioners working on development, program monitoring and evaluation, and for consideration of state or national indicators to monitor progress on UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).

 

The mission of the Center on Gender Equity and Health is to conduct innovative multidisciplinary research to understand and eliminate gender inequities in health, and to provide academic and practitioner training toward achievement of these goals.

The drop down menus help in filtering the number of measures by parameters such as psychometric score, citation frequency etc.  The dashboard updates itself as we keep adding more measures to Emerge.

There are multiple benefits to measuring gender norms. One example is the possibility of providing a greater understanding of how restrictive gender norms can be and the consequences this has on children’s well-being.
