Gender and the Environment

We are facing a triple planetary crisis with climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. While all humans and all nations are affected, women – especially women in low- and middle-income contexts – bear some disproportion burdens from these crises, as they are proportionally more dependent on threatened natural resources. Simultaneously, women are often not included in planning and management regarding climate change and environmental disasters. EMERGE has developed this survey modules to aid data collection on issues of women and the environmental concern, such as exposure, access to information, and participation in environmental management decision-making.
