The Sexually Harassing Behavior Questionnaire from an extraorganizational perspective (SHBQ-X) is a 14 item measure of care workers’ experiences of sexually inappropriate behavior from patients or clients. It measures nonverbal, verbal, and physical acts of sexual harassment.

1. I have witnessed sexual acts (e.g., masturbation).
2. I have witnessed sexual gestures.
3. Someone has unnecessarily exposed themselves in front of me.
4. I have witnessed sexual harassment/violence among patients/clients/residents.
5. I have been whistled at.
6. I have received repeated requests for dates.
7. I have been sexually complimented.
8. I have been told suggestive/offensive stories or jokes.
9. I have been exposed to verbal sexual innuendo.
10. I have been asked intrusive or personal questions by a client (e.g., requests for body measurements, relationship status, sexual preferences).
11. I have been hugged in a way that made me feel uncomfortable.
12. I have been petted or patted in a way that made me feel uncomfortable.
13. I have been touched in a way that made me feel uncomfortable.
14. I have been kissed in a way that made me feel uncomfortable.
