The Paternal Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale–Short Form is a 14-item measure that is intended to capture fathers’ ability to assist their partner in breastfeeding their infant, especially following hospital discharge. It is adapted from the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale–Short Form aimed at breastfeeding partners and is based on the construct of paternal breastfeeding self-efficacy that is thought to be determined by performance accomplishments, vicarious experiences, verbal persuasion and physiologic responses.
