Black Racial Dissonance Inventory (BRDI)

The Black Racial Dissonance Inventory (BRDI) is a 7-item measure that captures the degree to which Black individuals feel racial hostility and ambivalence toward other members of the Black community.

1. I keep my distance from most Black people.
2. I have to turn my back on poor Black folks in order to get ahead.
3. Trying to improve poor Black communities is a waste of time.

5. I can barely deal with my own issues, let alone those in the Black community.
6. I wish I were more comfortable around other Blacks.
7. I don't want people to think I am like typical Black folks.
