Nurses Sexual Harassment Scale (NSHS)

The Nurses Sexual Harassment Scale (NSHS) is a 15-item scale measuring nurses’ experiences of sexual harassment in the workplace. It contains two sub-scales “latent sexual harassment” and “manifest sexual harassment".

6. Expressing of affection and romantic words to at tract sexual willingness
7. Expressing unusual admiration of your body
8. Standing too close to you in an unusual way
9. Lustful stares
10. Showing sexual symbols (for example, showing some sexual acts with hands)
11. Making a contact of their sexual organs with your body
12. Touching their sexual organs in front of you
13. Touching your body
14. Sending air kisses from a distance
15. Addressing you with sexual insults

Scoring Procedures

The scale has a summative score. Scores range from 0-60 and a score of zero indicates no experience of sexual harassment, and as the score increases, it indicates more experiences of sexual harassment.
